Discount supermarket chain Aldi has announced its expansion plans for 2025, which include the opening of more than 200 new stores across the United States. How Many Stores Will Aldi Open in the U.S.?

According to the company, Aldi plans to open more than 225 new stores throughout 2025, aiming to reach 800 additional locations by the end of 2028. The expansion will be carried out through a combination of organic growth and the conversion of select Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket locations into Aldi-format stores.

These stores are part of Southeastern Grocers, a company that Aldi acquired in March 2024. In total, the company plans to convert approximately 220 of these stores to the Aldi format by 2027. In 2024, Aldi opened nearly 120 new stores, bringing its total store count to over 2,400—making it the third-largest grocery chain in the United States by number of locations.

Where Will the New Aldi Stores Open?

So far, the company has not released exact locations for all the stores opening throughout the year. However, several new locations have already opened in recent months, primarily in states like Alabama, Louisiana, Missouri, and Florida, among others.

So far this year, Aldi has opened more than 40 new stores and plans to open more before summer. These are the new locations:
