The story of Danielle and Xander in Pulse definitely captivated Netflix viewers. Since its premiere, the medical procedural series has become one of the most-watched on the streaming platform, leaving many wondering if there will be a continuation—especially since the ending left several questions unanswered, hinting at the possibility of Pulse season 2.

But will there be a second season? And if so, which actors will return to the series? Although Netflix hasn’t said much about it, here’s everything we know so far.

Will there be Pulse season 2?

For now, Netflix has not confirmed whether there will be a second season of this successful series. However, as mentioned before, there are still many unresolved issues—such as the future of the hospital administration—which keeps the door open for a continuation. For now, we’ll have to wait for an official announcement from the platform.

Which characters might return for Pulse season 2?

If a second season is confirmed, nearly the entire main cast should return. However, some characters’ stories were left unfinished, making them key to the next season, including:

  • Natalie
  • Patrick
  • Sam
  • Xander

As for Danny, the main character, her fate is also uncertain, so it’s unclear whether she would appear in season two. (Spoiler alert!) In the final scene, Danny swims into the ocean, but shortly after, the hospital receives an emergency call about a boating accident with many injuries… she could be one of the victims. Then again, the protagonist never dies… or do they?

What will Pulse season 2 be about?

In the first season of Pulse, Danny decided to withdraw the sexual harassment complaint she had filed against her ex-boyfriend. However, her situation at the hospital remained unstable due to the influence of Xander’s powerful parents, who were determined to separate her from their son.

Meanwhile, Natalie Cruz had to choose between firing Danny or resigning from her position in the emergency department. After much thought, she decided to protect Danny by recommending her for the role of chief resident… but the new emergency director chose Sam Elijah instead. This didn’t affect Danny, who found peace after receiving Xander’s apology. The final scene shows Danny finding symbolic relief by swimming in the ocean.

Although the conflict between Danny and Xander seems resolved, Xander will have to face the consequences of his mistakes—especially after losing a patient. Meanwhile, other storylines remain unresolved: Dr. Tom Cole may lose his job due to his relationship with a patient, and Sophie Chan was unable to confess her feelings to Daniela Pérez.

On the other hand, Sam celebrated his promotion, though he couldn’t help but reflect on his own feelings toward Danny—suggesting the possibility of a love triangle in the future. The second season could explore all these threads and go deeper into the relationship between Danny and Phillips.
