Rushkeys – Korora – Kivi (Rushkeys Remix)

We’re pleased to feature this outstanding release on our webzine—Lithuanian producer Rushkeys delivers a deeply textured and emotionally resonant remix of Korora’s track Kivi, reaffirming his status as a rising force in the electronic music scene. With his rework, Rushkeys doesn’t simply remix the original; he transforms it, expanding its sonic palette while preserving its emotional core.

Kivi, originally composed by Berlin-based artist Korora, takes its name from the Finnish word for “stone”—a symbol that suggests weight, permanence, or perhaps quiet strength. In its original form, the track carries a subtle, introspective quality, gently moving through emotional undercurrents. Rushkeys taps into this mood with sensitivity, building his remix around the same thematic nucleus but guiding it toward a more expansive, uplifting atmosphere.

From the opening moments, the rhythmic structure of the remix sets a clear tone—measured, organic, and full of intent. The groove is not overpowering but carefully calibrated, allowing space for each element to breathe. There’s a sense of patience here; nothing is rushed. Instead, tension and momentum are built gradually, which heightens the emotional payoff later in the track. The percussion is crisp and understated, functioning less as a driving force and more as a frame around which the melodic and harmonic elements can evolve.

One of the standout features of this remix is the bassline, crafted using the Korg MS-20 Mini. Its presence is both grounding and melodically rich, adding depth to the track while gently nudging the harmony forward. Rather than dominating the mix, the bass subtly shifts beneath the surface, reinforcing the track’s transformative arc. It’s a perfect example of how sound design and musicality can coexist when handled with care.

As the remix unfolds, synth textures begin to bloom. Rushkeys uses a layered approach—some synths shimmer with a digital delicacy, while others feel analog, raw, and slightly detuned, adding warmth and tension. The combination gives the track a distinctive, tactile quality. In the second half, the introduction of the Roland Aerophone brings an unexpected but deeply expressive turn. Its organic tone contrasts with the more synthetic backdrop, adding a human touch that elevates the entire composition.

What’s most impressive is how Rushkeys has captured and extended the emotional essence of Kivi. His remix feels like a journey from introspection to catharsis—a gradual emergence from shadow into light. It honors the original’s restraint while exploring a fuller, more dynamic space. This sense of atmospheric evolution is where the remix truly shines: it’s cinematic without being overblown, emotive without sentimentality.

The release is further enriched by a remix of Korora’s “Lumi” by Beatune, offering a different but complementary perspective. Together, these tracks show how reinterpretation can reveal new dimensions in music.

Rushkeys’ remix of Kivi is a high-quality release, filled with nuance, emotion, and sonic craftsmanship. We’re proud to host it on our platform, and we highly recommend it to fans of thoughtful, atmospheric electronic music.
