Julia Roberts Joins Gray’s “Kill Your Darlings”

Julia Roberts is teaming up with “Ad Astra” and “The Lost City of Z” filmmaker James Gray for a film adaptation of Peter Swanson’s new novel “Kill Your Darlings” at United Artists and Amazon MGM Studios.

Dubbed a ‘murder mystery in reverse’, the story follows married couple Tom and Wendy Graves who seem to have a picture-perfect life – but harbor a shocking secret below the surface.

The story cuts back through time from their fiftieth birthday party to buying there home, their son’s birth, the mysterious death of a work colleague, etc. all pointing back towards a single terrible act they plotted together in their early twenties.

That secret that has kept them bound together, but with time it’s fraying and each begins to wonder if they would be better off if their spouse takes the secret to their grave.

Roberts, Scott Stuber, Lisa Gillan, Jane Rosenthal, Nick Nesbitt, Berry Welsh and Marisa Yeres Gill will produce.

Roberts and Stuber are currently working together on Sam Esmail’s next film “Panic Carefully” which began shooting last month in London.
