L’Irlanda per l’Eurovision 2025 schiera la norvegese Emmy che porterà sul palco di Basilea il brano Laika Party.

Il brano porta la firma di Emmy K. Guttulsrud Kristiansen, Erlend Guttulsrud Kristiansen, Henrik Østlund, Larissa Tormey e Truls Marius Aarra, mentre la produzione è curata da Henrik Østlund e Jonas Jensen.

Il significato della canzone

La canzone racconta la storia di Laika, la cagnolina mandata nello spazio dai sovietici, celebrandola come una piccola eroina che ha contribuito al progresso dell’umanità. Il testo immagina che Laika non sia mai morta, ma che ancora oggi danzi e faccia festa tra le stelle, felice e libera. Nonostante sia stata lasciata sola, Laika non ha mai smesso di amare il volo. La canzone esprime il desiderio che il suo spirito viva per sempre nel cielo, come simbolo di coraggio e speranza. Attraverso un ritmo allegro e ripetitivo, il brano trasforma una storia triste in un omaggio luminoso e tenero alla sua memoria.

La recensione

Una storia trita e ritrita approda sul palco di Basilea nell’interpretazione di una reginetta del pop che nel modo di cantare sembra ferma agli anni ’90 e primi 2000. Canzone divertente e che rende giustizia alla protagonista di una vicenda che ha cambiato la storia del mondo. Il cambio di tonalità sul finale è l’ennesimo artificio creativo che fa pensare ai brani che echeggiavano in radio… 30 anni fa. Però l’effetto vintage (stile Vengaboys, Aqua e B*Witched) e il messaggio positivo salvano il risultato. – Voto: 6
