Cracker Barrel has decided to bring back a menu that was discontinued seven years ago and was once a customer favorite

Good news for Cracker Barrel fans! The famous fast-casual restaurant chain has decided to bring back a menu that was discontinued seven years ago and was once a customer favorite: Campfire Meals! These popular dishes are returning alongside a new Campfire Shrimp Skillet. We’ll tell you when it’s available so you can get your favorite plate.
What’s included in Cracker Barrel’s Campfire Meals?
These iconic Campfire Meals feature the same distinctive smoky flavor you’d expect from food cooked over an open fire. Each dish is slow-cooked in foil with a signature seasoning blend to create rich, aromatic flavors that guests can enjoy right at the table. The menu includes the following dishes:
- Campfire Shrimp Skillet: The newest addition to the Campfire lineup. It features grilled shrimp and andouille sausage simmered in a buttery broth with campfire-seasoned corn and potatoes, served in a cast iron skillet. Available starting at $10.99.
- Campfire Chicken: A marinated half chicken, seasoned with campfire spices and slow-cooked with sweet corn on the cob, red potatoes, carrots, grape tomatoes, and onions in a buttery broth.
- Campfire Beef: This tender beef dish is slow-cooked with the same classic campfire vegetables and spices, sealed in foil for a hearty and flavorful result.
Each Campfire Meal is served with buttermilk biscuits and cornbread muffins.

History of Cracker Barrel
In 1969, Dan Evins, a man from Tennessee, recognized an unmet need. As the interstate highway system expanded, more and more people were taking long trips, but there were few reliable places to rest, enjoy a good meal, and take a break in a welcoming setting. That’s when Evins envisioned a rural-style store that would capture the charm of the Southern countryside and offer hospitality to both travelers and nearby communities.
What started as a simple idea quickly took on a life of its own. Through hard work, dedication, genuine service, and strong values, Evins and his team—including his uncle, Herschel McCartney, considered the heart and soul of the company—created something far more meaningful than just a roadside stop. Cracker Barrel became a welcoming table that would eventually become part of the American cultural landscape.
Today, Cracker Barrel is a strong, ever-evolving business with a clear mission: to be a second home for everyone who visits. While it honors the nostalgia of simpler times, it also looks to the future, adapting to new generations’ expectations without losing what makes it special.
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. continues to serve hearty, homestyle meals and offer distinctive products in a setting that makes everyone feel welcome. The company currently operates 660 Cracker Barrel locations across 43 states and also owns Maple Street Biscuit Company, a fast-casual brand with a modern twist.
