“We’re Rushing It to Screen”: ‘Shōgun’ Creator Offers a Speedy Season 2 Production Update
Shōgun creator Justin Marks reveals where they’re at with production on Season 2. Find out what he said here.

It's simply impossible to underestimate the success of FX's Shōgun. Becoming the Emmy-winning television season in current history and earning an almighty critical score of 99% on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the stage has surely been set for a second season worthy of worldwide attention. However, as revealed back in April, that second season might be further away than fans would've liked, with filming confirmed to be beginning in January 2026. This makes the release of Season 2 an uncertain 2026 possibility, with 2027 now a likely year for more adventures with returning stars Hiroyuki Sanadaand Cosmo Jarvis. Sadly, the pair will not be joined by Anna Sawai's Lady Mariko, with the character dying during the first season's penultimate episode.
