TNB Electron EV chargers at Hotel Casuarina Meru, Ipoh – 1x DC 120 kW, 2x AC 22 kW, operational in Q3

There will soon be TNB Electron EV chargers at Hotel Casuarina@Meru in Ipoh. The hotel, which is a subsidiary of Perak Corporation Berhad, has formalised a leasing agreement with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) for the operation of an EV charging station at the former’s premises.

TNB will install one 120 kW DC charger with two guns and two 22 kW AC chargers at the hotel. There will be dedicated EV parking bays and 24-hour access, offering convenience to hotel guests and the public. The chargers will be operational by Q3 2025. EV owners, if you choose hotels based on in-house charger availability, this is another option in Ipoh.

To date, there are 149 EV charging bays across 56 locations in Perak, which is almost 30% of the state’s 500-point target by 2025. Malaysia’s national goal of deploying 10,000 EV chargers by 2025 is currently at 36%, the press release stated.
