Porsche will go back to having full-time representation on the GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS this year as EMA Motorsport makes its return to the series, with Dorian Boccolacci spearheading the team’s line-up.

Boccolacci, who was named by Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific as its new Selected Driver at the end of last year, will partner Shane Smollen aboard the No. 911 Porsche 911 GT3 R for the six-round series that begins next month at Phillip Island.

EMA last raced in GTWC Australia in 2023 with Yasser Shahin and Garnet Patterson, but the team took a hiatus from the series last year, although its partnership with Manthey yielded success in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Porsche’s only representation with GT3 machinery last year came via a one-off outing for Car Collection Motorsport in the season finale at Bathurst.

EMA team manager Marcus Cole said: “It’s great to be back on the GT World Challenge Australia grid in 2025 with the Porsche 911 GT3 R, and also running with an exciting partnership with PMAP [Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific].

“It’s brilliant to have Shane stepping up to GT3 after some impressive performances in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia and obviously GT4.

“We are also excited to welcome Dorian to the team. He is definitely proving to be a rising star in the Porsche family, so it will be really great to watch him as he makes his Australian debut, and combine with Shane to hopefully score some strong results.”

Boccolacci made his debut in his new role for Porsche in last weekend’s Sepang 12 Hours, finishing second alongside EBM teammates Adrian D’Silva and Loek Hartog.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to race in such a competitive series and it’ll be the first time I’ve competed in Australia!” commented the Frenchman.

“I’m grateful to Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific and EMA Motorsport for giving me the chance to show my ability in the championship.

“I’m raring to go and pleased to be working with Shane and I believe we have what it takes to enjoy a successful campaign together.”

Smollen added: “I’m thrilled to take the next big step in my racing career with Porsche and EMA Motorsport. It feels like everything in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia and GT4 has been a stage rehearsal for this opportunity.

“I’m really looking forward to learning from such an experienced international team, and a co-driver of Dorian’s class.”
