Leon Edwards has a new opponent coming his way as he takes to the octagon in his home country.
The former welterweight champ is set to take on American Sean Brady in a five-round main event during a UFC Fight Night at the O2 Arena in London on March 22, UFC president Dana White announced Wednesday night.
Edwards was previously slated to fight No. 4 welterweight contender Jack Della Maddalena, but White announced that the Australian fighter was booked to take on welterweight champ Belal Muhammad in a title fight at UFC 315 in May.
The 33-year-old from Birmingham lost the belt in his most recent outing when he dropped a unanimous decision to Belal Muhammad at UFC 304 this past July but remains the No. 1 contender in the welterweight division.
Prior to that loss, Edwards had been riding a 13-fight unbeaten streak that saw him knock Kamaru Usman out with a head kick en route to becoming champion.
Brady, meanwhile, is on a two-fight win streak after wins over Gilbert Burns in September of 2024 and Kelvin Gastelum in December of 2023. The 32-year-old is 17-1 in pro MMA and 7-1 in the UFC, with his only loss coming to Muhammad in 2022.
The card is also slated to feature former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz returning to action against streaking 205-pound contender Carlos Ulberg.
