Jehnny Beth (ex-Savages) announces new solo album, shares “Broken Rib”

Former Savages singer Jehnny Beth has announced her second solo album, You Heartbreaker, You, which will be out August 29 via 20L07 / Fiction. She made the album with partner/collaborator Johnny Hostile. “We’re living in a dark time, full of drama and barbarous tragedy,” Jehnny says of the album. “It became clear to me that, in these times, we either learn how to scream really well, or we learn how to whisper.”
Jehnny clearly knows how to scream, as heard on the album’s first single “Broken Rib,” a real angsty ripper. “I knew that if I was going to sing again, it had to start with a scream,” Jehnny says. Watch the video, which she co-directed with Johnny Hostile, below.
