BMW R1250 RT, R1300 GS patrol bikes for palace duty

A total of 34 BMW Motorrad R1250 RT and R1300 GS motorcycles were handed over for duty in Istana Negara. Supplied by Ammo Defence Solutions, the new motorcycles will replace older models currently in use by the palace.

Taking receipt of the BMWs, Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department (JSPT) director CP Datuk Sri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the bikes will be used for escort and traffic control duties. “The bike will aid the efficiency of the escort and security outriders for Istana Negara,” he said during the handover ceremony at the palace administration block.

In attendance were Datuk Pengelola Bijaya DiRaja Datuk Wira Zailani bin Haji Hashim, Datuk Paduka Maharaja Lela Datuk Azuan Effendy bin Zairakithnaini, JSPT Deputy Director ACP Fauzi bin Osman, JSPT Kuala Lumpur Head ACP Mohd Zamzuri bin Mohd Isa and Ammo Defence Solutions CEO Roslan bin Abu Bakar.

In Malaysia, the BMW Motorrad R1250 RT has a retail price tag of RM153,500. Meanwhile, the BMW Motorrad R1300 GS has a recommended retail price of RM138,500.
