Westin Workman will start Race 1 of the Toyota GR Cup North America at Sebring International Raceway weekend on pole position, laying down his benchmark time early to solidify his position at the front of the grid.

The BSI Racing driver reeled off a 2:24.104 lap aboard the No. 13 Toyota GR86 Cup Car on his second lap to outpace Jaxon Bell. The Copeland driver also set his quick time early in the 15-minute session, missing out on pole by just 0.033 seconds.

John Dean secured pole in the Legends Cup class in his No. 16 Copeland Toyota, jumping up to third position overall on the timing sheets on this last flying lap, just as the checkered flag fell. Dean’s best lap was also inside one-tenth of a second of Workman’s overall best time.

Fourth overall was Lucas Weisenberg, just 0.115 seconds off the pace, with Will Robusto rounding out the overall top five qualifying times.

After the checkered flag fell, Robusto appeared to stop his No. 2 RVA Graphics Motorsports by Speed Syndicate Toyota in the first sector on his way back to pit lane. This did not impact running during qualifying, which ran otherwise uninterrupted.

Race 1 for GR Cup is slated for this afternoon at 1:40 p.m. EST with live coverage available on SRO’s GT World YouTube Channel and grcup.com.
