Who is entitled for the compensation given for travel delays?
Airlines and train companies often have policies, sometimes state-enforced, that they must pay compmensation for travelers if the delay is longer than a specific time, for example one hour, or 3 hours. If I'm traveling for the company, with my ticket being paid be the company, and I have a delay of several hours, who should get the compensation? as the ticket was paid by the company, one would say it is them who should receive it however, this compensation is given for the inconvenience the traveler experienced, so it should be the traveler who should receive it however, as the traveler receives an hourly rate for the time spent traveling, it means the traveler got paid more for just sitting around, so it's the company who should receive the compensation. Please note, that a similar question was asked about a case where the time spent traveling was not paid by the company. This is a big difference between that question and mine, as in my case I got paid my hourly rate during the delay.
