(KTLA) – Jillian Lauren Shriner, the woman booked for attempted murder after being shot by police searching for hit-and-run suspects in Los Angeles Tuesday, had fired a gun at officers during a standoff, police said.

Shriner, an author and the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, got mixed up in the incident after a suspect fleeing a hit-and-run on the 134 Freeway fled on foot into the Eagle Rock neighborhood.

While police were searching backyards for that suspect in the area of Eagle Vista Drive and Waldo Place, police said Shriner emerged from her home next door armed with a gun.

Police said Shriner, 51, refused multiple orders to drop the firearm and pointed it at officers. In a subsequent update, police said Shriner also fired the gun.

"Our investigation revealed evidence such as a shell casing and video footage showing she repeatedly ignored police commands to disarm and that she fired her weapon at LAPD officers," the update reads. "She was subsequently booked for attempted murder of a peace officer."

Shriner was struck by gunfire from the officers and retreated into her house. She eventually exited the home, where she was taken into custody.

Shriner was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. A 9mm handgun was recovered from her residence.

Inmate records for Los Angeles County show Shriner was released on $1,000,000 bail on Wednesday. She's due in court on April 30.

The hit-and-run suspect being pursued by officers was found and taken into custody that same afternoon. Two other suspects involved in the crash were not found.

Sources for Weezer, meanwhile, told NBC News and Variety that the band still intends to play at Coachella on April 12. The concert isalso still listed among the upcoming dates on the band's official website.

Bassist Scott Shriner also suggested he may still be performing. Speaking to reporters from the New York Post outside of his home, the musician reportedly stopped to say, "See you at Coachella" before returning inside.

Bassist Scott Shriner has recorded 12 studio albums since joining Weezer in 2001.
