Vinyl Me, Please

Vinyl Me, Please has confirmed that it has entered liquidation.

It comes as news of the company struggling was first shared by the Denver Post. In the report, several customers came forward to say that they had filed complaints against VMP, accusing them of not sending out paid orders, ignoring questions and enquiries, and not acknowledging requests for refunds.

Now, the Denver-based company – which is registered as Offbeat Ventures, LLC – has assigned the complaints to third-party Vinyl Liquidators, LLC. It has also handed over control of assets as part of an Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors (ABC) process, which is an alternative to filing for bankruptcy.

Confirmation of this was shared with some customers who reached out. One shared a screenshot of the email update via Reddit, and it outlined that creditors have until October 1 to file a claim for any outstanding orders or refunds.

“As a customer (and creditor) of Vinyl Me, Please (the “Company”), we wanted to let you know that on April 4, 2025, the Company commenced an Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors (ABC),” the email read.

“The ABC process is led by an independent fiduciary who is referred to as the Assignee. The Assignee has undertaken a process involving the sale of the business,” it added. “We expect that at the conclusion of the sale process, the buyer of the Company’s business will try to resolve outstanding and future orders where feasible. We anticipate this sale process will conclude by mid-May, 2025 with further details to follow.”

Later in the update, it goes into greater detail about how the ABC is an alternative to a bankruptcy procedure. Find the full statement above.

The financial struggle for VMP comes as the business recently underwent some drastic changes, including the scrapping of the record-of-the-month club format, lawsuits arising, and staff layoffs.

In the first run of complaints that were highlighted by Denver Post last month, one subscriber shared how he was over $1,000 (£750) by the company due to missing pre-orders and membership fees. This, he said was “especially disheartening” as he has had a membership for over a decade.

In a previous statement, VMP issued customers an apology for the “ongoing service hiccups” and said that the issues stemmed from a “restructuring process”. It then added that missing orders from April would be sent out this month.
