An upcoming PlayStation Studios game will not be PS5 Pro enhanced, its developer has announced following an incorrect PS Store listing. San Diego Studio’s MLB: The Show 25 was originally thought to be Pro enhanced because it carried the relevant tag on PS Store. However, an official game FAQ confirms that there are no enhancements.

MLB The Show 25’s PS Store page removes ‘PS5 Pro enhanced’ tag

PS Store’s ‘PS5 Pro enhanced’ tags can be quite misleading, as we’ve mentioned before, as they’re often applied to games without enhancements. However, players were not expecting MLB: The Show 25’s tag to be a blooper because it’s a first-party game, and one that players expect to come with Pro exclusive features.

“While the game runs smoothly on the PlayStation 5 Pro, it does not include any exclusive enhancements or features beyond the standard performance,” the FAQ reads. PS Store has since removed the tag from MLB: The Show 25’s page.

However, the game is still advertised as Pro enhanced on PS Direct at the time of this writing. Interestingly, that’s the first key feature Sony lists on MLB: The Show’s page on its online storefront.

Looks like the tag is applied to all games, especially first-party, by default.
