NHL Power Rankings: A catchy limerick for all 32 teams

Every NHL team is chasing some kind of pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

For several clubs, simply being in the playoff chase with St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner on Monday is an accomplishment. For others, only the Stanley Cup will do. And still more squads are hoping the draft lottery in May breaks their way and invigorates a rebuild.

Of course, whether you’re top o’ the standings or feeling green in the basement, lord knows every club could use a little luck of the Irish to get where it yearns to be.

So, with St. Paddy’s just a few fiddle strokes away, we thought — for the second straight March — we’d, uh, honour the great tradition of Irish poets by using this edition of the power rankings to drop a limerick for all 32 NHL teams.

23. Detroit Red Wings (31-28-6) Another playoff miss would be devastating for the Wings/Changes at the top? Detroit would have to consider such things.
