On 30 March 2025 (Sunday), the summer season will commence at Katowice Wojciech Korfanty International Airport in Pyrzowice, Poland. As part of the “Summer 2025” schedule, passengers will be able to travel from Katowice Airport via 117 regular and charter routes to 96 airports located in 32 countries.
Among routes available during summer 2025, there are eleven new destinations. Wizz Air has announced that it will handle first flights from Katowice Airport to Chișinău (from 1 June), Pisa (from 2 June) and Madrid (from 3 June), while Ryanair will launch new flights from Katowice Airport to Dubrovnik (from 31 March), Brussels-Charleroi (from 1 April) and Budapest (from 3 July). During the summer season, five new charter routes will also launch at Katowice Airport, namely: El Alamein in Egypt, Sitia in Greece, Kutaisi in Georgia, Tabarka in Tunisia and Oujda in Morocco. The summer schedule of flights will be available up until the end of the last Saturday of October.
Regular routes
During “Summer 2025,” Wizz Air, Ryanair, LOT Polish Airlines and Air Dolomiti/Lufthansa will offer passengers travelling from Katowice Airport a total of 51 routes to 46 airports in 21 countries. Most routes, thirteen, will be available to Italy. Ryanair will handle nine of them, namely: Alghero, Bari, Catania, Forli, Milan-Bergamo, Reggio Calabria, Rome-Fiumicino, Trapani and Venice-Treviso, while Wizz Air will fly to Catania, Naples, Pisa (new) and Rome-Fiumicino. Seven routes will be available to Spain: six will be offered by Wizz Air – Alicante, Barcelona, Fuerteventura, Madrid (new), Malaga and Tenerife, while Ryanair will handle one: Alicante. Four destinations will allow to travel to Croatia; among them is Dubrovnik, a new route from Ryanair. The Irish carrier will also fly to Pula and Zadar, while Wizz Air will handle operations to Split. Four routes will be available to The United Kingdom: Liverpool and London-Luton from Wizz Air, and London-Stansted and Manchester from Ryanair. Three routes will be available to Greece: Athens from Wizz Air and Ryanair, and Corfu from Wizz Air. Two destinations will be handled to Bulgaria: Burgas/Wizz Air and Varna/Ryanair, Cyprus – Larnaca/Wizz Air and Paphos/Ryanair, Malta (Wizz Air, Ryanair), and Germany – Dortmund/Wizz Air, Frankfurt/Air Dolomiti. Single flights will be available to Albania – Tirana/Wizz Air, Belgium – Brussels-Charleroi/Ryanair (new), Georgia – Kutaisi/Wizz Air, Hungary – Budapest/Ryanair (new), Iceland – Reykjavik/Wizz Air, Ireland – Dublin/Ryanair, Moldova – Chișinău/Wizz Air (new), Montenegro – Podgorica/Wizz Air, The Netherlands – Eindhoven/Wizz Air, Norway – Oslo-Gardermoen/Ryanair and Portugal – Madeira/Wizz Air. One domestic flight will be available at Katowice Airport; LOT Polish Airlines will handle the Katowice – Warsaw route.
Charter routes
Katowice Airport is the country leader when it comes to charter traffic. During the “Summer 2025” season, the network of flights handled for travel agencies at Katowice Airport comprises 66 routes to 21 countries. Most routes, sixteen, will be available to Greece: Athens, Chania, Corfu, Heraklion, Kalamata, Kavala, Kefalonia, Kos, Mytilene, Patras, Preveza, Rhodes, Samos, Sitia (new), Thessaloniki and Zakynthos. Eleven routes will allow to fly to Spain: Barcelona, Fuerteventura, Girona, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, La Palma, Lanzarote, Malaga, Minorca, Palma De Mallorca and Tenerife. Six will be available to Egypt: El Alamein (new), Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Marsa Matoruh, Sharm El Sheikh and Taba, and four to Tunisia: Djerba, Enfidha, Monastyr and Tabarka (new), Turkey – Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman and Izmir, and Italy: Catania, Lamezia Terme, Olbia and Palermo. Two routes will be handled to Bulgaria – Burgas and Varna, Cyprus – Larnaca and Paphos, Montenegro – Podgorica and Tivat, Morocco – Agadir and Oujda (new), Oman – Muskat and Salalah, and Portugal – Faro and Madeira. The summer network of charter flights at Katowice Airport also comprises single destinations to Albania – Tirana, Cabo Verde – Sal, Croatia – Dubrovnik, Georgia – Kutaisi (new), Kenya – Mombasa, Madagascar – Nosy Be, North Macedonia – Ohryda, Tanzania – Zanzibar, and United Arab Emirates – Dubai.
“The ‘Summer 2025’ network at Katowice Airport is a rich mix of regular and charter flights. Among them are 11 new routes, including the beautiful capital of Spain, i.e. Madrid. The current forecast estimates that this summer season will be record-breaking for Katowice Airport. We expect to handle more than 900K passengers in both July and August,” said Artur Tomasik, President of the Board of the Upper Silesian Aviation Group (Górnośląskie Towarzystwo Lotnicze S.A. – GTL S.A.).
Katowice Airport is one of the biggest regional airports in Poland. 6.39M passengers travelled via its network of flights in 2024. The forecast for 2025 estimates that approx. 7M passengers will be handled, the most in the history of Katowice Airport. Katowice Wojciech Korfanty Airport is the country leader in the area of charter flights, and one of the biggest cargo airports in Poland.
