Jon Rahm shot cannons off spectator’s head as PGA Championship fans applaud response

Jon Rahm smashed an iron shot off a spectator’s head at the PGA Championship. The Spaniard’s wayward approach on the par four 11th went off target and struck a man at full force. Unbelievably, the fan was OK and was seen smiling on live coverage shortly afterwards. “That dude that just got domed by Rahm needs to shake the PIF down for about $50million,” joked one fan in reference to Rahm playing on Saudi-backed LIV Golf. “Rahm just murdered somebody,” another wrote on X. Rahm went over to the spectators after his errant shot and shook his victim’s hand before handing him a signed glove. It won’t be worth $50 million but it will still be a nice souvenir to take home from Quail Hollow, as well as the inevitable bruise. “Fair play to Jon Rahm giving a glove and a proper man hug to the lad his ball hit. I got skelped by Doug Ghim and all I got was a handshake from his caddy,” commented a viewer on X. “An apology, handshake, and a signed glove from Jon Rahm will make up for a good welt,” added another. Rahm ended up missing a par putt while attempting to save face with an up and down to fall to two-under — five shots off the lead. He began Saturday six shots back from Jhonattan Vegas but felt good about his game going into the weekend.
