But towards the end of the match, disaster struck. The £42million Arsenal man slipped and twisted awkwardly as he attempted to re-angle his body while running backwards. The jarring movement results in one leg flying out as the other remained stationary. Calafiori managed to see out the rest of the game, despite initially being forced off the field. But he looked to be moving awkwardly. And speaking afterwards, Italy boss Luciano Spalletti revealed Calafiori will need to undergo tests to determine the extent of his problem. Spalletti said: “We still don’t know if he’s injured. While calf and muscle issues have resulted in another five games missed, making for a total of 16 games out injured so far.
