Heart of Racing Team has confirmed Tom Gamble and Casper Stevenson as the season-long drivers for its Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo entry in the GTD class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The duo will be joined by Zach Robichon for the remaining Michelin Endurance Cup races in the No. 27 Aston Martin, which is coming off a third place class finish in last month’s season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Stevenson, 22, is set for his first full season WeatherTech Championship campaign as the team’s designated Silver-rated driver, while Aston Martin factory driver Gamble, 23, will contest all non-conflicting rounds with the FIA World Endurance Championship, where he’s part of the team’s Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH effort.
A replacement driver for the races at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park has not yet been announced.
Robichon, meanwhile, has been ruled out of filling in for those rounds as well, as the Canadian will embark on a full WEC campaign in the team’s LMGT3 entry.
“I can’t wait to join the Heart of Racing Team for my first season in GTD and drive alongside Casper and Zach,” said Gamble. “We had a strong start to the season with a podium finish in Daytona so hopefully we can keep building on that.
“I’m also looking forward to experiencing some new circuits. I’d like to say a massive thank you to the team for this opportunity and I’m very excited for what should be an amazing season.”
Stevenson added: “After the opportunity at Daytona, it will be amazing to be with the team for the year. I will be discovering all the new American circuits for the first time which will be exciting. Driving with Tom and Zach I’m confident that we can have a successful season.”
