Miles&Go Lifetime Tiers:

Conclusion

TAP is up for sale and will likely end up with one of the European airline conglomerates of Air France KLM, Lufthansa Group, or IAG (British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus & Vueling), and when that happens, the Miles&Go program is the first to go.

The lifetime requirements of 2 or 3 million miles earned from TAP flights are very high, and none of the miles earned when flying on partner airlines count.

Terms and conditions of the lifetime status:

Gold For Life and Navigator For Life statuses have the same benefits as TAP Miles&Go Gold and Navigator status, respectively, with the difference that they are granted for life.

Status Miles earned on TAP flights are counted from the date of joining the TAP Miles&Go Program, and all miles accumulated from the year 1998 are taken into account. These Status Miles are referred to as “Miles For Life”.

Status Miles earned on flights with other Airlines, including Star Alliance Airlines, do not contribute towards For Life status.

Once the necessary conditions are met, the For Life status ( Gold or Navigator ) is automatically updated in the Customer Account.

For Life status remains in effect for as long as the TAP Miles&Go Account stays active. Accounts become inactive after 36 months without any mileage earning activity , and some benefits may be limited. When activity resumes, benefits will be fully restored.

physical card with the For Life image and a digital card , with the regular TAP Miles&Go Gold or Navigator image, corresponding to the status, will be made available.

TAP reserves the right to, at any time, change the conditions for granting For Life status. However, Customers who have already obtained the status will not be affected . The new conditions will apply to future attributions only.

TAP also reserves the right to, at any time, change the benefits of the For Life status, with the applicable benefits being updated on the respective page.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What are Miles For Life?

Miles For Life correspond to the Status Miles accumulated by the Customer since joining the TAP Miles&Go Program. They differ from regular Status Miles, which have validity limited to the annual qualification period.

Do all miles count towards For Life status qualification?

No, only the Status Miles earned on TAP flights, counted since the year of 1998 and from the date of Customer subscription to the TAP Miles&Go Program.

I have met the conditions for Gold or Navigator For Life. When is the qualification change made?

Once the conditions are met, the change is automatic.

I am Gold For Life. Can I get (regular) Navigator status?

You can achieve Navigator status via regular counting ( find out more on Navigator conditions ) in the annual qualification period. If you become a Navigator (regular) and then do not meet the necessary criteria to maintain that status, you will stay as Gold For Life, never losing this status.

After achieving Gold For Life or Navigator For Life status, can I lose it?

No, your For Life status (Gold or Navigator) will remain in effect for as long as you keep your Account on the TAP Miles&Go Program.

What happens to my For Life status if I don’t travel?

Accounts with no flight activity after 36 months become inactive, and some benefits may be limited.

Can an inactive For Life Account become active again?

Yes, as long as there is flight activity credited to the Account, the Customer restores all the benefits of their For Life status.

Do For Life Customers have additional benefits compared to current Gold or Navigator members?

The added benefit is that the status is for life. All other benefits remain the same.

Do Gold For Life and Navigator For Life statuses allow the nomination of Gold status to a friend?

Yes, these statuses allow one nomination per annual qualifying period, under current conditions. You can check the benefits of For Life status here .

How is my position in the For Life Customer ranking calculated?

The calculation is based on the accumulation of Miles For Life on TAP flights. The Customer with the highest number of Miles For Life accumulated will be the one who obtains the highest qualification, thus determining their position in the ranking.
