David Lowery's The Green Knight, John Boorman's Excalibur, and Antoine Fuqua's King Arthur rank among the most acclaimed. However, other worthy entries exist, including Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017), a bold and subversive take on the myth whose glorious destiny was sadly denied by a critical tongue-lashing and subsequent box office failure.
