The Denza N7 has been previewed in Thailand again, this time at this year’s Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS). This is the facelifted version of the mid-size fastback crossover that was first introduced in 2024 and recently got updated in China for the 2025 model year with BYD’s ‘God’s Eye’ DiPilot ADAS suite last month.

In its home market, the N7 is offered in three trims priced from 259,800 to 289,800 yuan (about RM159k to RM178k). Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 with an 800V architecture, all three variants get a Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that has an energy capacity of 91.3 kWh and can support DC fast charging at up to 230 kW. The latter is with two charging guns plugged in, otherwise it is 150 kW with a single gun. There’s also AC charging capped at 7 kW and a 6-kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) system.

The entry-level powertrain features a rear electric motor rated at 313 PS (308 hp or 230 kW) and 360 Nm of torque, which enables a 0-100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds. This setup also provides a range of up to 702 km following China’s generous CLTC standard.

A second powertrain adds a front electric motor with 218 PS (215 hp or 160 kW) and 310 Nm for an all-wheel drive setup with a total system output of 530 PS (523 hp or 390 kW) and 670 Nm. This drastically reduces the century sprint time to 3.9 seconds, but range is decreased to 630 km.

The top variant with the AWD powertrain benefits from a beefier braking system with four-piston calipers and perforated discs at the front. It also gets dual-chamber air suspension, although all variants get electronically controlled dampers as standard.

Measuring 4,860 mm long, 1,935 mm wide, 1,602 tall and with a wheelbase of 2,940 mm, the N7 is larger than a Tesla Model Y and Xpeng G6 – both are at least 100 mm down in terms of overall length and have a wheelbase that is about 50 mm shorter. Given Denza is BYD’s premium brand, the N7 comes is offered with things such as full-grain Nappa leather upholstery, powered front seats (with heating, ventilation and massage functions), a seven-inch touchscreen in the rear armrest, a choice of wood or aluminium interior trim, a crystal gear selector, a suede headliner, a panoramic roof with sunshade, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.3-inch central infotainment touchscreen and even a 10.25-inch front passenger touchscreen.

The list continues with an augmented reality-enabled head-up display, a 16-speaker sound system from Devialet with Dolby Atmos, an in-car karaoke system, NFC car key support, dual-zone climate control (with rear vents, air purification and fragrance system) and a host of connectivity features.

The N7 comes with the DiPilot 300 version of BYD’s God’s Eye that incorporates lidar sensors and other sensors to realise a variety of functions. These include automatic valet parking, highway and urban expressway navigate on autopilot (HNOA), adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist, automatic high beam, blind spot monitoring, AEB, forward and rear cross traffic alert with braking, automated parking, remote control parking and a surround-view monitor.
