Endings are important for hopefully obvious reasons, but in the interest of making sure everyone’s not just on the same page, but on the same word… they're the part of a story people are most likely to remember. Not all the time, of course. But endings, by their very nature, are the final thing you see when you watch, read, or experience something, and so it’s pretty hard for a thing to be great overall if it ends on a dud note.
