Yuji Hori Might Have Leaked Chrono Trigger Remake at Comicon Naples 2025

On May 2, 2025 at Comicon Naples 2025, Yuji Horii appeared at a Dragon Quest panel alongside Basiscape composer Gabriele “Richter” Negro. According to multiple attendees who posted on social media sites like Reddit, such as Kaguya Shinomiya who shared a video and The Fishy One who shared an initial account, he allegedly mentioned a Chrono Trigger remake. Square Enix hasn’t confirmed any new take on the SNES game yet. [Thanks, Kaguya Shinomiya and The Fishy One on Reddit!] Apparently, Yuji Horii brought up a potential and possible Chrono Trigger remake as an aside during the panel, which was intended to focus on the Dragon Quest series. Once it came up, the panelists seem to have realized what was said. As Kaguya-Shinomiya noted later, the one translator then tried to play it off and say that slip didn’t happen. Square Enix released Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Editionon the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2022. That included the first English release of Radical Dreamers.
