“We Don’t Agree”: ‘Chicago P.D.’ Star Teases Cook’s Intelligence Conflict in Her First First CI Case

One element that sets NBC procedural Chicago P.D. apart from its One Chicago counterparts is its more character-centric approach, where each episode focuses more on an individual character of the Intelligence Unit. Early in Season 12, the show introduced a new character, Patrol Officer Kiana Cook (Toya Turner), who was soon promoted to the undermanned Intelligence Unit. While the show has gradually developed her character, some viewers have found the pace a bit too slow, eager to see more of Cook’s backstory and personal journey explored in depth. Thankfully, the next episode, "Name Image Likeness," puts Cook in the forefront as she works her first case involving a confidential informant, and actress Toya Turner, who plays the character, has previewed a bit of what to expect from episode 19.
