As the TV viewing public gear up for the FA Cup Final and the Eurovision 2025 grand final, there’s still plenty for fans of genre TV to enjoy in the UK, from the new series of Doctor Who, to The Last of Us, Andor: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, not to mention the six new episodes of Black Mirror that arrived not so long ago. Dystopian drama The Handmaid’s Tale is also back in the UK and airing its sixth and final season over on Channel 4.
Comedy-drama fans aren’t doing too badly either, with new Hacks and soon, Poker Face arriving soon on Sky in the UK. Tina Fey’s reworking of Alan Alda’s Four Seasons starring Steve Carrell and Colman Domingo is also out now on Netflix, while fans of comedy silliness are already enjoying Jason Mantzoukas and co. in the latest series of Taskmaster on Channel 4.
In terms of crime drama, see new Doctor Who guest star Rose Ayling-Ellis in BBC One’s Code of Silence, along with Jason Watkins and Robson Green in Channel 5’s psychological thriller The Game. As well as that, here’s a big look ahead to the new British drama coming up, all the big returning British series this year, and for crime fans, a list of the new UK crime dramas to anticipate in 2025.
We’ll update this list of TV highlights weekly with more shows, dates and times as the release announcements arrive. If you’re based in the US, here’s where to look for the relevant info.
