Odds are subject to change. Truist Championship 2025 If any slightly distracted golf punter saw the name of this week’s venue, it would be easy to question exactly what sport they were betting on. The newly-named Truist Championship – formerly the Wells Fargo Championship – is taking place at Philadelphia Cricket Club. Yes, you read that correctly. Apparently the founders were local university students with English heritage and a love for leather on willow. The course used at Philly CC is the Wissahickon, a short par 70 that was once used for the 2016 Senior Players Championship. That event was won by Bernhard Langer with a score of one-over so despite the lack of yardage, it plays tough. This is the latest Signature Event on the PGA Tour, hence a field of just 72. It’s headed by Rory McIlroy, who on first glance may be frustrated by the tournament moving from Quail Hollow, a course where he’s won four times. That said, Quail Hollow stages next week’s PGA Championship so McIlroy will have a great chance to taste further glory in the Majors following his dramatic US Masters win last month. Shane Lowry ready to win The last time Shane Lowry teed it up competitively in Pennsylvania he finished runner-up in the US Open. With a bit of rain and cool temperatures in the forecast this week, the Irishman could be a great bet at 33/1 with bet365 to go one better here. The course, designed by A.W. Tillinghast (Lowry was eighth at the 2019 US PGA on another of his tracks), suits ball-strikers and should play into Lowry’s hands. He ranks 11th for Strokes Gained: Approach this season and 4th Tee To Green so if he holes his share of putts on the tough, undulating greens which will be a challenge for everyone, watch out! Lowry has made the top 20 in seven of his last eight starts and was runner-up to McIlroy at Pebble Beach earlier this season. Now he looks ready to get the win his play deserves. Bet on Shane Lowry at 33/1 with bet365 Keegan Bradley to beat Sam Burns in match bet With no course form to go on, it makes sense to make note of where we are in the United States. And that’s going to form the basis of a 72-hole match bet between Keegan Bradley and Sam Burns. Bradley was born and bred in the North-West and often thrives in the region where he’s familiar with the lay of the land and grass types. Indeed, the Ryder Cup skipper won the BMW Championship at Aronimink the last time he played a PGA Tour event in Pennsylvania. By contrast, Burns has done his best work in the Southern States and even though both players have shown some good form of late, the location this week means Bradley gets the nod at 10/11 with bet365. Back Keegan Bradley at 10/11 with bet365 Justin Rose for Top 10 Justin Rose won the US Open at nearby Merion and has a fantastic record in the region. After his play-off loss to McIlroy at Augusta, Rose is in fine form and an Englishman winning at Philadelphia Cricket Club would seem rather appropriate. Back him for a Top 10 at 5/1 with Betfred – a good price in this limited field of 72. Back Justin Rose for a Top 10 at 5/1 with Betfred How to watch the Truist Championship 2025 Venue – Philadelphia Cricket Club, Flourtown, Philadelphia Date – Thursday 8th May – Sunday 11th May Broadcast – Full coverage on Sky Sports Golf: Thursday-Friday 4 pm – 11 pm, Saturday 4 pm – 11.30 pm, Sunday 4 pm – 11pm.
