Trailer: Jai Courtney In “Dangerous Animals”

Aussie actor Jai Courtney is back as a shark-obsessed serial killer in “Dangerous Animals,” a new thriller which will premiere as part of the Directors’ Fortnight lineup later this month at the Cannes Film Festival.

The project marks the third film for writer/director Sean Byrne following the highly acclaimed “The Loved Ones” in 2009 and the still fairly well regarded “The Devil’s Candy” in 2015.

Ten yesrs later he’s finally back with this story in which Zephyr, a rebellious surfer, is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer (Courtney) and held captive on his boat.

She must figure out how to escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below – outwiting a predator more dangerous than the ocean itself. Will she escape, or become the next offering to the deep?

Hassie Harrison, Josh Heuston, Ella Newton, James Munn, and Rob Carlton co-star in the film which will open in cinemas on June 6th via IFC and Shudder.
