The 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross Receives Styling and Tech Updates

The Toyota Corolla Cross debuted for the 2022 model year as a – you guessed it – crossover version of the popular Corolla sedan. Now a few years into its first generation, it’s time for an overhaul, and Toyota has one ready for the 2026 model year.

The SUV received a styling overhaul, which includes a new grille for the hybrid model and a wider, more rugged look for the gas variant. Toyota introduced a new paint color and two new wheel designs, with 18-inch wheel options for the XLE and Hybrid XSE trims.

Inside, the Corolla Cross gained a new center console design with more storage space, and a new available 10.5-inch touchscreen. The vehicle is also available with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.

Corolla Cross Hybrids come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and three electric motors with a combined output of 196 horsepower. Toyota claims an 8-second 0-60 mph time and up to 42 mpg combined for the hybrid. Gas models get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a continuously variable transmission. It sees 169 horsepower and up to 32 mpg with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive models drop to 30 mpg combined.

Safety equipment is a strong point, with every Corolla Cross offering Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 as standard. The package includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warnings, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, road sign recognition, and more.

The 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross will be built at the automaker’s facility in Huntsville, Alabama. It will reach dealers’ lots later this year, and pricing details will be available closer to the release.
