The World's First Sperm Racing Is Coming
A startup raised $1 million for this unique event.

Men will come up with just about anything when given enough time on their hands. And the latest venture comes in the form of a new sport.
Sperm Racing is a startup touting the world's first sperm race set to take place on April 25 at the Hollywood Palladium. The startup, which has raised a whopping $1 million for the endeavor, "will feature a microscopic racetrack where sperm motility is tracked in real-time, offering a full sporting experience with commentary and betting."
According to Traded, the event will feature a UCLA vs. USC race. It's also expected to sell out the venue with 5,000 attendees. The obvious question is: why? Well, the startup company "aims to make reproductive health engaging and measurable while addressing declining fertility rates."
Sperm Racing says the creative juices were flowing after realizing male fertility is declining and it's "happening quietly, steadily, and nobody's really talking about it."
Hence the sperm race.

"Sperm motility ... [is] measurable, trackable, and just like running a race or lifting a weight, it's something you can actually improve," the startup states. "But no one's turned it into something people care about. So we did."
As for the actual race, the microscopic racetrack will mimic the reproductive system-chemical signals, fluid dynamics and synchronized starts. High-resolution cameras will track every microscopic move. The event will feature a live stream, complete with stats, leaderboards and, yes, even instant replays.
If that sounds wild, just get a load of this:
"We're turning it into a spectacle. Think press conferences. Weigh-ins. Live-streamed races with play-by-play commentary," the company states. "And, of course, the world's smallest racetrack."
