‘The Mannequin’ – First Look at ‘Initiation’ Director’s Possession Slasher Movie

The director of the 2020 slasher Initiation is back this year with The Mannequin, and Deadline shares a first look while announcing that Jackrabbit Media will release the film in the U.S.

The film is said to be “a tense and stylish new take on possession horror.” Deadline notes, “The company will introduce the title to international buyers at this week’s Cannes market.”

From writer and director John Berardo, “The film follows Liana Rojas (Isabella Gomez), who discovers the downtown Los Angeles building where her sister died is haunted by the ghost of a mutilation-obsessed killer. As possession grips the group, Liana and her friends must uncover the building’s secrets before they too lose their lives—or limbs.”

Krystle Martin (The Mean One), Lindsay LaVanchy (Predator: Killer of Killers), Jack Sochet (Smile) and Maxwell Hamilton (I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore) also star.

The director’s statement continues, “Their passion and deep understanding of the indie horror space make them the perfect home for a film like The Mannequin.
