The SRO3 class title battle is heating up entering this weekend’s GT America powered by AWS rounds at Sebring International Raceway, with a two-way fight for the championship quickly developing.

After claiming a win apiece and runner-up finishes last time out at Circuit of The Americas, Turner Motorsport driver Justin Rothberg has maintained his nine-point lead over Kyle Washington of GMG Racing.

Ross Chouest, who claimed his first career podium finish in a GT3 car, has climbed to third in the standings in his Chouest Povoledo Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R ahead of Rounds 7 and 8, which is slated to see nine entries.

It includes the second weekend of the season for SKI Autosports’ Memo Gidley, who will likely again be a challenger in his Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II.

Other SRO3 class entries include Black McDonald’s DXDT Racing Corvette and the expected return of Mirco Schultis’ Mishumotors Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R after missing the recent COTA round due to other commitments.

With Van der Steur Racing moving to Pirelli GT4 America competition, the GT4 class features two entries in JTR Motorsports Engineering’s Anthony McIntosh and Michael Fitzpatrick of 89x Motorsports.

An additional GT4-spec car, however, is entered for FASTMD Racing with Remstar’s Farhan Siddiqi, who is listed in the Invitational class with his Audi R8 LMS GT4.

Practice kicks off on Thursday afternoon, with qualifying on Saturday morning and Race 1 on Saturday at 11:55 a.m. EST. Race 2 gets underway Sunday at 9:05 a.m EST.

Both races will be streamed live on SRO’s GT Word YouTube channel and on Twitch.
