‘Slapped him’ – UFC star speaks out after violently subduing suspect in wild hit-and-run crash

Former UFC champion Henry Cejudo said multiple lives were saved after he was involved in a crazy hit-and-run. The car ran into a large pair of cement blocks, and Cejudo claimed it flew into his neighbour’s room and was ‘literally on top of the bed’. Having held both the UFC flyweight and bantamweight titles during his stellar fighting career, Cejudo was thankful he was in the right place at the right time as he brought the suspect to a halt in gold silk pyjamas. “I see this car coming with a huge right turn probably going 80 to 100 mph,” he said in a video posted to his social media moments after the incident. “Next thing you know I hear a big sound, and boom! I knew he had hit something or something had happened and he ended up hitting my neighbor’s yard. “There were four passengers in there. They couldn’t get out. You can see inside this room, if someone was standing in there, they would be dead. “All these kids are lucky to be alive.” The UFC star intervened when the driver attempted to escape the crash and began assaulting his neighbour, as witnesses later described. “Once they got out, I told them, ‘Hey, you guys ain’t going nowhere,’” Cejudo added. “Wayne tried to stop them, who is the owner of this house. That’s when I had to step in. “Once he hit my neighbor I was like, alright man, [I’m] all in. He’s in his 60s, I had to go out there and picked him up, dropped him, slapped him around a little bit.” Cejudo later expanded on how he dealt with the suspect when speaking to Arizona News. “Ended up dropping him, lifting him, dropping him. Stepped him around a little bit and pretty much controlled him with one arm honestly,” he explained “So, he wasn’t that tough.” Phoenix Police have named 22-year-old Angel Cota as the main suspect and say he faces charges of driving under the influence and assault. The incident took place on Friday night in Phoenix, Arizona when ‘Triple C’ was filming content in his home studio.
