The Asian Le Mans Series has presented an unchanged, six-round calendar for the 2025/26 season, retaining the same venues after efforts to adds a round in Thailand or Indonesia failed to materialize.

The championship will again be contested as part of three double header weekends, starting at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit in December before a stretch of races in the United Arab Emirates through January and February.

Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit has retained its spot as the season finale, while the Dubai double header takes place the weekend after the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

It means that no further races or venues have been added to the calendar, although a series statement outlined that both the Buriram International Circuit in Thailand and the Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia had been under consideration.

According to the series, Buriram would have hosted the season opener at the end of November, but a suitable date could not be found.

Mandalika had been “considered as an alternative,” but plans were scrapped after it was found that required safety upgrades to host Le Mans Prototypes couldn’t be guaranteed to be completed on time.

Both circuits remain under consideration for the 2026/27 season.

“After a highly successful season that saw 47 entries for the final round in Abu Dhabi, we were looking to take the series to Thailand or Indonesian next season,” said Frederic Lequien, LMEM CEO.

“However, due to circumstances beyond our control, the decision has been taken to continue with the same format that has proven to be successful for the past two seasons, which has been received positively by the teams and sponsors.

“The facilities at the three circuits on the calendar are second to none, with Sepang being home of the MotoGP Grand Prix of Malaysia, the technically challenging Dubai Autodrome circuit that drivers love to test themselves on and the beautiful surroundings at Yas Marina, which hosts the final race of 2025 Formula 1 season.

“The 2025/26 calendar has also been designed to avoid the important dates for Chinese New Year and Ramadan and also avoid a clash with the 2026 Rolex 24 at Daytona.

“Looking ahead we will continue to work with the staff at Buriram and Mandalika to explore the possibility of including one, or both, in 2026/27.”
