Senators shut out Maple Leafs to force Game 6
The Ottawa Senators will live to see another game. With a 4-0 road victory on Tuesday, the Senators forced a Game 6 in Ottawa against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Defenceman Thomas Chabot opened the scoring in the second period, beating a screened Anthony Stolarz blocker-side. Dylan Cozens, the Senators’ marquee deadline addition, doubled the lead with a short-handed tally in the third. Tim Stutzle and Brady Tkachuk added some insurance with empty-net markers to secure the victory. Linus Ullmark, who has struggled to a .848 save percentage this series, was perfect Tuesday night, stopping all 27 of the Maple Leafs’ shots. On Thursday, the series shifts to Ottawa, where the Maple Leafs will have their third opportunity to punch their ticket to Round 2 in Game 6. More to come.
