Summary: Samsung announced that it now offers nearly 700 free channels to watch on Samsung TV Plus. Along with that, the company gave an update about how much its platform has grown over the past year.
The price of watching TV has been pretty high, and this is why people sometimes prefer to use streaming services. It’s better to pay $10/month than to pay $80/month for cable. What’s funny is that many of the streaming services we use also offer the ability to stream live TV. Samsung is one of those services.
If you have a Galaxy phone and you want to watch content at no charge, then it’s a no-brainer. You’ll need to sign in with your Samsung account if you want to watch the content, so keep that in mind. It has a focus on live TV, but there is also on-demand content for you to thumb through.
Samsung TV Plus now offers almost 700 free channels
We don’t hear about Samsung TV Plus as much as many other services, but it’s nothing to sneeze at. The company just posted a press release where it explained how much it had gained in popularity over the past year.
Last year, the platform boasted an amazing 88 million monthly active users. That pales in comparison to streaming services like Netflix or Disney+, but Samsung is not primarily a streaming service. What’s impressive is that Samsung TV Plus’ user base surged 30% YoY in Q1 2025.
Because Samsung added over 70% more shows and movies for people to watch, the company saw a 177% YoY increase in total watch time. Globally, the company offers more than 3,500 channels.
During the announcement, Samsung also stated that it now offers nearly 700 free channels for people to watch. This means that you can stream all sorts of FAST (Free Ad-Supported TV) channels covering a wide range of genres. It’s one of the best ways to watch free TV.
If you want to use Samsung TV Plus, you can do so on your Galaxy phone, Galaxy Tab, or Samsung Smart TV. Unfortunately, you can’t watch it on your computer’s browser, so you’ll need a Samsung device.
