Questions remain for Aaron Rodgers as latest Pittsburgh Steelers move leaves glaring hole to raise quarterback fears

The Pittsburgh Steelers have confirmed the signing of a new offensive weapon for 2025 — but it’s not Aaron Rodgers. Much of the conversation throughout the offseason has been dominated by quarterback Rodgers, who has long been expected to land in the Steel City after leaving the New York Jets. Fellow running back Max Hurleman and offensive tackle Garreth Warren have also signed. Sermon, 26, entered the league as a third-round pick for the San Francisco 49ers in 2021. He spent one season with the team, before stints with the Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts. Sermon has 134 carries for 505 yards and three touchdowns in 42 games over four seasons, and now joins a Steelers running back room that also includes the likes of rookie Kaleb Johnson, Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell. But the NFL veteran has not yet confirmed his next move, and as the waiting game continues, the Steelers have signed three other players to their roster.

Among those who arrived on Monday is running back Trey Sermon, who took part in Pittsburgh’s rookie minicamp on a tryout last week.

Fellow running back Max Hurleman and offensive tackle Garreth Warren have also signed.
