Nick Persing took back-to-back Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America wins at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and led at Wayne Taylor Racing 1-2-3 in Race 2.

Following his Saturday victory, Persing led the field to the green flag from the overall and Pro class pole with Pro-Am pole-sitter and WTR teammate Brendon Leitch just behind.

Persing opened up enough of a gap in his No. 8 WTR Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 to keep his lead after the race’s mandatory pit stop.

However, Persing took the win just 0.006 seconds over Danny Formal after two late-race restarts set up a dash to the flag set up an eventual photo finish.

The No. 1 WTR crew utilized quick work in the pits to elevate Formal to second in the second phase of the race after his co-driver Hampus Ericsson ran inside the top-three during his stint.

A Pro-Am win and overall podium for Anthony McIntosh and Brendon Leitch completed an ideal Sunday for the Wayne Taylor-led organization.

ANSA Motorsports’ Enzo Geraci and Colin Queen were fourth with TR3 Racing’s Will Bamber and Elias De La Torre rounding out the overall top five.

Glenn McGee took his No. 10 WTR Lamborghini to the Am class lead early on after class pole-sitter David Staab lost ground at the start. McGee’s co-driver Graham Doyle gave WTR a third class victory on the day after surviving a pair of safety car restarts.

Nick Groat fell down the order in the opening laps, paving the way for Adrian Kunzle to bring his No. 42 MLT Motorsports Lamborghini to the head of the LB Cup field.

Kunzle maintained his advantage out of the pits to take the LB Cup victory, with Groat falling by the wayside after a tumultuous race.

Anthony Bullock was left stranded on track after a spin out of Turn 6, bringing out the race’s first full-course caution. The spin came a handful of laps after an initial spin caused by contact from David Staab’s No. 48 Precision Performance Lamborghini.

Staab was handed a drive-through penalty for incident responsibility.

Late race drama saw multiple cars off track and a momentarily slowing Andre Lagartixa, which brought out a second brief yellow, resulting in a two-minute dash to the finish.

RAFA Racing’s stablemates Jem Hepworth and Rocky T. Buldoc were both penalized for an early race incident.

Alliance Racing’s David Hodge did not take the start, decreasing the overall car count to 38.
