Robert Noaker claimed pole position for the first race of the Mustang Challenge weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca after also leading both of the day’s practice sessions.

Noaker jumped to the top of the times early, reeling off a 1:31.394 lap time on his third attempt in the 15-minute qualifying session to outpace TechSport’s Devin Anderson by 0.563 seconds in his Dark Horse class points-leading No. 13 Ford Mustang Dark Horse R.

RNR’s Sandy Satullo qualified third overall in his No. 7 DH class entry, with McCumbee McAleer Racing’s Corbin Collins behind in fourth.

Alfonso Diaz took Dark Horse Legends class pole honors in the No. 15 TechSport Mustang, reeling off the fifth-best overall time in the process.

Marcos Vento was sixth with Alex Bachoura behind in seventh overall after the Spark Performance driver set the second-best time in DHL.

TechSport’s Colin Harrison finished the session in eighth, with Zachary Lee (McCumbee McAleer Racing) and Tate Pritt (Automatic Racing) completing the top ten respectively.

Notably, Ford CEO Jim Farley qualified an impressive 11th in his No. 17 Competition Motors Mustang in just his second race weekend in the series.

As was the case in both of this morning’s practice sessions, qualifying race green from start to finish, allowing the field of 20 drivers the maximum amount of possible running time ahead of Saturday’s Race 1.

The first race of the weekend goes green at 8:50 a.m. PST on Saturday with live streaming coverage available on Peacock, as well as Ford Performance and IMSA’s YouTube channels.
