Can you believe we’re just over a month away from the release of 28 Years Later? It’s the most anticipated film of 2025 on Letterboxd, and a new poster has arrived this week.
Check out the new poster for 28 Years Later below, which spotlights the film’s bone temple. Interesting to note, the second installment in this new trilogy is titled 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, so expect this to be a pivotal location as the new trilogy takes shape.
28 Years Later brings the rage virus back to theaters on June 20, 2025.
The long awaited sequel to 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later puts Danny Boyle back in the director’s chair, with Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Ex Machina, Annihilation) scripting.
In 28 Years Later, “It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.”
The second installment in this new trilogy will release in theaters on January 16, 2026. It’s titled 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, and it’s directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman).
