Marc-Andre Fleury isn’t done just yet.
The 21-year NHL veteran will join Canada for the first time at the IIHF World Hockey Championships next week in Stockholm, Sweden, per his agent Allan Walsh.
Fleury announced his retirement from the NHL before the start of this season, and the future Hall of Famer was honoured every step of the way during his final year.
He will join former Pittsburgh Penguins teammate Sidney Crosby after spending 13 seasons together and winning three Stanley Cups.
The first overall pick in the 2003 draft, Fleury has previously represented Canada at two World Junior Championships, and was the third goalie on the 2010 Olympic gold-medal winning roster.
During his final season with the Minnesota Wild he posted 14 wins in 22 starts and held a .899 save percentage.
The 40-year-old captured the Vezina Trophy in 2020-21, and is second on the all-time NHL wins list behind Martin Brodeur.
Canada will begin the event on May 10, 2025 with a clash against Slovenia.
