LPGA is hosting a tournament in Utah for the first time in over 60 years
Photo by Christian Petersen/Getty Images The LPGA is in Utah this week and it has been a while since that was the case. Last week saw the LPGA Tour play its first major championship of the season in the Chevron Championship and Mao Saigo came out on top of the five-person playoff that it required. There is no rest for the weary though and the Tour is back in action this week out at Black Desert Resort in Utah. What is notable about this is that the LPGA tour has not hosted an event in Utah in a very long time. To be specific... it has been over 60 years! The 1964 Riverside Ladies Open was the last official LPGA Tour event to be hosted in the state of Utah. Clifford Ann Creed won with a final score of 286 and took home $1,350 as a prize. For what it’s worth the Epson Tour has had two events in Utah over the last two seasons, specifically the Black Desert Resort Championship took place at this course. If you are unfamiliar with Black Desert Resort... the views are spectacular. Our track this week is pretty sweet pic.twitter.com/sh0cdm68BK— LPGA (@LPGA) April 29, 2025 It should make for an incredible event. If you are looking to watch you can do so on Golf Channel on both Thursday and Friday from 7-9pm ET as well as from 6-9pm ET on both Saturday and Sunday. Notable players i the field include Ruoning Yin (4th in the world), Lilia Vu (5th) Chevron Champion Mao Saigo (13th) and Charley Hull (14th).
