Eli Roth is Bringing Horror to the Neighborhood with ICE CREAM MAN His "Most Terrifying and Insane" Movie Yet

Eli Roth, the horror filmmaker behind Hostel, Cabin Fever, and most recently Thanksgiving, is directing a new original horror film titled Ice Cream Man, and he’s calling it the wildest thing he’s ever made.Roth talked about the film saying: “I’ve had this idea for a long, long time, and studios were too afraid of my early drafts. Now’s the time to push the envelope farther than I ever have with what I think will be my most terrifying and insane film to date.“Films like Ice Cream Man are what we created The Horror Section for, to make unrated, boundary-pushing theatrical events the horror fans can all scream about for years. I’m very lucky to have such fantastic partners like MCT and, of course, all the investors in The Horror Section.”That new company, The Horror Section, launched earlier this year in partnership with Media Capital Technologies (MCT), with a mission to finance and produce bold, independent genre films that don’t have to tiptoe around studio concerns. And Ice Cream Man is first in line to deliver the bloody goods.Plot-wise, details are under wraps, but here's the hook: “an idyllic summer town descending into madness when an ice cream man serves kids sweet delights with horrifying results.”Roth wrote the script himself, based on an idea he’s been sitting on for over two decades.MCT Principals Christopher Woodrow and Raj Singh are betting big on this being a game-changer for modern horror. “Working with Eli is always a privilege, and this film feels fresh and exciting as it’s his first original project in the independent market in nearly a decade. We believe Ice Cream Man will mark the start of the next great horror franchise with massive commercial potential.”If Ice Cream Man really is as terrifying and insane as Roth promises, it may be the sweet nightmare horror fans have been craving.Source: Variety
