ECOVACS DEEBOT T80 OMNI Ultimate Review: A Mid-Range Robot Cleaner That Outperforms Its Price

ECOVACS has long been a leader in the robot cleaner space, and in 2025, they are kicking things off with the DEEBOT T80 OMNI. This robot cleaner is what would be considered a “mid-range” option, but only in price. ECOVACS did not skimp on the performance or features of the DEEBOT T80 OMNI. This robot cleaner has vacuuming and mopping, the latter of which ECOVACS pioneered.

The DEEBOT T80 OMNI includes an advanced Laser LiDAR System, along with powerful suction of 18,000Pa, and a pretty incredible mopping system. As someone who has reviewed a lot of robot cleaners over the years, I was particularly interested in the advanced navigation system as well as the suction control, particularly as a pet owner. But the real question is, how well did the T80 OMNI perform in my apartment over the past three weeks, with my dog shedding her winter coat? Let’s find out.

ECOVACS DEEBOT T80 OMNI Review:  Design

The design of the DEEBOT T80 OMNI isn’t a huge change from the rest of the ECOVACS vacuum and mop robots. It’s a round robot cleaner with LiDAR built into the robot cleaner, versus it sitting on top of the robot like some of its competitors. Looking at the front of the robot cleaner, you can see the LiDAR spinning while it’s navigating around your home. The front also houses a camera as well as a few other sensors, these are also used for navigating your home and identifying objects.

On the top of the T80 OMNI, you will also see the power button, as well as a compartment for the dustbin. The rear of the machine has a dust outlet for the T80 OMNI to empty when it is docked. As well as the water reservoir and charging contacts. This robot cleaner will back itself into the dock to charge, as well as wash the mop after each use. The dock has two water tanks, for both clean and dirty water. This is what allows the mop to continuously clean itself in real-time, and once it gets back to the dock.

The vacuum and mop robot itself is a little over 3 inches tall and sits about 4 inches from the ground. This means it’s not going to be able to go under all of your furniture. In fact, it was not able to go under my couch or my coffee table, as both sit about 2.5 inches above the carpet in my living room.

A More Minimalistic Dock

The dock that ECOVACS includes with the DEEBOT T80 OMNI is a bit different from some of its other robot cleaners. For a dock that is able to auto-empty the dustbin, clean the mop, and also refill the water reservoir, this is a pretty small dock. Both the clean and dirty water tanks are smaller than other models I’ve tested. Interestingly, the clean water tank is larger than the dirty water tank. You’ll understand why when we get to the mopping portion.

One aspect that surprised me was the auto-empty feature. That feature isn’t new; however, in a lot of the robot cleaners that I have tested, it doesn’t get all of the dirt, dust, and debris out of the dustbin every time. In fact, quite often, it only gets about half of it out. Forcing me to empty it myself kind of defeats the point. But with the DEEBOT T80 OMNI, I have not had that problem, it has always auto-emptied without any issues.

The dock is still black, so it can blend into your home quite nicely, and with it being smaller, it doesn’t feel like it takes up a ton of space in your home.

ECOVACS DEEBOT T80 OMNI Review: Performance

When it comes to performance, one of the first things to check out for a new robot cleaner is the suction power. For a long time, robot cleaners were stuck at around 3,000-4,000Pa. However, in the past couple of years, robot cleaners have blown past that, including the DEEBOT T80 OMNI, which features 18,000Pa suction. Compared to the T50 OMNI (announced at IFA last September), it was rated at 15,000Pa, making this a 20% increase in suction power. Now, for the most part, you won’t notice a huge difference between the two since you will likely rarely use the max suction mode. Most of the time, you’d want to use Strong or Standard.

I have used the Max mode a few times since receiving the T80 OMNI, mostly to see how well it cleans and how loud it gets. It does get pretty loud, even more so than a lot of other robot cleaners with higher suction power. But in the Strong mode, it’s much quieter, and Standard is so quiet that you can likely run it while you’re sleeping with no issues. ECOVACS touts this as a great vacuum and mop robot for those who work from home, and I’d agree, as long as you aren’t using it on Max suction. You shouldn’t do that anyway, as that would likely blow out the motor much faster.

I’ve found that the DEEBOT T80 OMNI does a really great job of picking up dirt, dust, and other debris – including dog hair. I have a short-haired dog, and it seems like she is always shedding. So, I normally run my robot cleaner daily to keep the house clean. The DEEBOT T80 OMNI has taken that challenge with ease. Additionally, it has done a great job at picking up hair and not getting tangled. I only once had to untangle it, and that was because it picked up a rather long piece of yarn off the floor.

Mopping is a breeze with the OZMO Roller Mop

I’ve long been a fan of ECOVACS robot cleaners and how well they mop; the company has long been a pioneer in this space. Even going back to the DEEBOT X1 Omni that I reviewed in 2022, it sported two spinning mops, which was one of the first (if not the first) to have this feature. It made a huge difference in mopping compared to other vacuum and mop robots at the time that only had a mopping pad.

The DEEBOT T80 OMNI now includes ECOVACS’ OZMO Roller Mop, which eliminates the issue of spreading dirt and bacteria with a dirty mop. This mop rolls, allowing the DEEBOT T80 OMNI to scrub with 16 times more pressure than traditional mop pads. The robot cleaner also cleans the mop in real-time, ensuring that the mop is clean with every roll, and therefore preventing the spread of filth and bacteria around with dirty water.

ECOVACS has also improved its mopping performance by using AI Instant Re-Mop. The DEEBOT T80 OMNI can determine if areas need to be recleaned and will instantly re-mop them as needed. This ensures that the T80 OMNI will leave your home clean, even if it’s particularly dirty.

I was quite impressed with how well the DEEBOT T80 OMNI performed. It outperformed many other robot cleaners that I have used in the past year. It was especially good at cleaning under the cabinets. This is because the OZMO Roller Mop is able to jet out and clean a larger area than normal.

The DEEBOT T80 OMNI automatically lifts its mop when it moves from hard floors to carpet, preventing your carpets from getting wet. This feature works well, and the carpet outside my kitchen always stayed dry. Once you experience this functionality, you’ll never want to go back to manually removing the mop before the robot cleaner cleans your carpets.

I’ve also noticed with the T80 OMNI, is that it does tend to get stuck a bit more often than other robot cleaners. As I mentioned earlier in this review, it’s pretty persistent at trying to clean under my coffee table. It has gotten stuck trying to go under it a couple of times. But not every time. It also tends to get caught under my Razer Iskur chair that is at my office desk. And this is because the base is a bit taller than most chairs, tall enough that it can get under it, but it always struggles with getting out. To be fair, almost every robot cleaner has these issues, but it is worth pointing out. Because other than that, this is a pretty automated robot cleaner. Most of the time, you won’t need to lift a hand other than to get it started.

Overall, I’m very impressed with the performance of the DEEBOT T80 OMNI. This is a practical choice for those who need both vacuuming and mopping and just want to get the job done without breaking the bank.

ECOVACS DEEBOT T80 OMNI Review: Software

The ECOVACS app, used to control the DEEBOT T80 OMNI, is nearly as important as the robot cleaner’s performance. It’s honestly one of my favorite robot cleaner apps because of its simple design. The layout is straightforward, making it easy to find what you need, whether it’s scheduling cleaning times, adjusting suction and mopping settings, or even customizing the room cleaning order.

One of the cooler features of the ECOVACS app, in my opinion, is the Cleaning Log. So you can go back and see how the robot cleaned and if it skipped any rooms. For instance, looking at the last cleaning, it only cleaned about half of my apartment. I could tell without even opening that specific cleaning log, as it shows me it cleaned 172 square feet in 55 minutes, versus the previous one being 389 square feet in 109 minutes. Opening the cleaning log, I can see that it essentially cleaned a bedroom, and that was about it. If this happens, you can tap the “Supplement Clean”, and it’ll clean the uncleaned area that was detected.

ecovacs app

The cleaning logs will also give you a graph of the area cleaned and the duration for each day over the past week. It’s a cool feature for those of us who like numbers.

The ECOVACS app also has a maintenance section. This will tell you how much time each component has before it will need to be replaced or tended to. This includes components like the filter, roller mop, side brush, the anti-tanelg main brush, and many more. It will even let you know when the dust bag needs to be emptied – that’s the dust bag in the dock.

In addition to letting you choose the order of rooms to clean, the ECOVACS also lets you change various cleaning settings for each cleaning cycle. So you can choose the cleaning mode: Vacuum only, Vacuum and Mopping, or Mop after Vacuuming. You can also choose the suction power, water flow rate and cleaning speed. I typically leave the cleaning speed on Standard, though I have used it a few times on the Deep Cleaning setting, which takes much longer, but it really does a number on the carpet in my apartment. Finally, you can choose if you want it to make a pass through your home once or twice. I typically go with twice if it’s been a few days since the vacuum and mop robot was run. ECOVACS also has a few more advanced settings available, like Suction-Boost on carpet or cleaning the carpet first.

All of these features help you have a real hands-off approach to cleaning your home with the T80 OMNI. Allowing you to keep working while the robot cleaner does its thing and makes your home nice and clean.

Should you buy the ECOVACS DEEBOT T80 OMNI?

The ECOVACS DEEBOT T80 OMNI is a great robot cleaner, especially considering its price. It effectively cleans your home daily, easily handles pet hair without tangles, and tackles dried messes on hard floors. This mostly hands-off robot cleaner is a practical and affordable choice.

The DEEBOT T80 OMNI is a great choice for people who need daily vacuuming and mopping in their home. It’s a more “mid-range” option in terms of price, however it does not lack in its performance. This is for those that want a clean home, without the extra bells and whistles.
