Benn has since been cleared by the National Anti-Doping Panel and is now permitted to fight again on British shores. The fierce rivals will meet at middleweight with a 10lbs rehydration clause inserted into their contracts to level the playing field for Benn, who competes two divisions below 160lbs. The Brits were set to continue their father’s rivalry in October 2022, but the contest was postponed after Benn tested positive for the banned substance clomifene in a pre-fight drug test.

Benn has since been cleared by the National Anti-Doping Panel and is now permitted to fight again on British shores.

The fierce rivals will meet at middleweight with a 10lbs rehydration clause inserted into their contracts to level the playing field for Benn, who competes two divisions below 160lbs.

Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh has declared that the winner could face unified super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez.

Benn has already made it clear that he isn’t interested in moving up another division to face Canelo.

However, Eubank Jr is keen to box the Mexican superstar once he has settled his score with Benn.

“I do think that is the next logical fight,” Eubank Jr said of a blockbuster showdown with Canelo during a recent appearance on the Ariel Helwani show.

“People ask me what I am going to do next, but I have no interest in [thinking about] it because this fight is so huge for me.”

The Canelo fight may not happen next for Eubank Jr, even if he gets his hand raised later this month, as there is a rematch clause written into his deal with Benn.

“Yes, there is [a rematch clause],” revealed Eubank Jr.

Asked if the rematch clause is on both ends, Eubank Jr replied: “Yes, I believe so.

“There is a chance we may be doing it twice, yes.”
