Disney Pictures is reportedly set to release their action-adventure sequel “Captain America: Brave New World” on VOD and digital platforms next Tuesday, April 15th.
That’s a release date of approximately 60 days after the film debuted in cinemas, the kind of delay some U.S. exhibitors want to be mandatory (if not longer).
However, the film earned around 90% of its current ‘just shy of’ $200 million domestic haul in its first 30 days in release. Disney may have potentially left money on the table by not going with a PVOD option earlier.
That’s not the only digital date today. Blumhouse title “The Woman in the Yard” will also arrive next Tuesday and comes in around 18 days after the film opened in cinemas. Also coming next Tuesday from Ketchup Entertainment is the animated “The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie”.
Meanwhile this week’s releases have become available with Jack Quaid-led “Novocaine,” Jonathan Majors-led “Magazine Dreams,” the Milla Jovovich-led “In the Lost Lands,” and Bong Joon Ho’s sci-fi comedy “Mickey 17” all now available to buy or rent.
The releases come as movie release windows were a big topic for discussion at last week’s CinemaCon convention.
