I Can’t Believe ‘A Minecraft Movie’ Left Out One of the Game’s Most Iconic Mobs
A Minecraft Movie includes many references to the video game, but the absence of the Ender Dragon stands out.

Considering the extensive history of Minecraft, it was obvious A Minecraft Movie wasn’t going to fit everything into its limited runtime. However, there is one massive component of the game that isn’t even mentioned within the narrative - The End. AlthoughMinecraft is a sandbox game, meaning there is a massive sense of freedom and players are essentially free to explore and play however they wish, The End features the unofficial completion of the game. Here, the player is left to defeat the Ender Dragon, the strongest enemy in the game and easily the most difficult to destroy. There is the possibility that the creators of A Minecraft Movie wanted to save The End for a potential sequel, but there are items collected by Steve (Jack Black) that indicate he has already achieved this goal. Therefore, the lack of recognition of the Ender Dragon causes confusion and just opens up the ground for plot holes in the future.
